About Me:
The Greenman is the soul of nature and exists within all of us. He is the ripeness of spring, the bounty of summer and the sacrifice come winter.
He is a good of the wood and of the green. As a Pagan I honor his spirit in me in my love for the woods and all things wild, my desire to minimize my carbon footprint and keep Gaia around for centuries to come, recognizing his cycles within my own life, and through the celebration of the changing of the seasons.
Quickly approaching is Lammas, also known as Lughnasadh, which is the first of the three harvest holidays as the Wheel of the Year begins to wind down.
It is traditionally celebrated on August 1, however, I celbrate seasonal holidays, not just for a day. So Lammas for me is from August 1 until sundown on September 21 when the Autumn Equinox begins.
At this time we gather the first fruits of our labor be they allegorical or literal. It is a time of preparation and planning for soon he will be sacrificed for the good of the land and the Goddess of Winter, the Crone will set her breath upon the land and a chill will be felt in the air.
At Lammas we are reminded of the balance between play and planning. There is still time to have fun but there is also work to be done.
I am a lover of Greek mythology, nature, naturalism, minimizing my consumption, healthy eating, and anything to do with the outdoors.
I mountain bike, kayak, canoe, hike, camp, walk, and swim.
When I am not outdoors I can be found online doing research, curling up with a good book, querying my tarot cards to divine answers to questions and thoughts that I don't have a full grasp on.
I love story telling, am a Reiki practitioner, psychic/medium, son, brother, friend, uncle, and nephew.
I am owned by a Tortise Shell Calico named Xena Princess Kitty Warrior. She was feral and had been abused when I rescued her and through the years that we have been in each others' lives we have taught each other love, patience, and understanding.
I strive to be a better human being, believing that I should be the change I want to see in the world but it's not always easy. The media, personal stressors, and people's attitudes and opinions sometimes distract me from my purpose but I always manage to get back on track.
Will you join me on my journey and let me join you on yours? Feel free to say hello, and let the journey begin.
Blessings of the Green and Gods!
